„Autumn trip” for ten thousand children at the Erzsébet-camps

September 28, 2015

With the last week of September the „Autumn trip” also ended. In this year it has been the fourth time that the Hungarian National Foundation for Recreation provided the opportunity especially for primary school students. Thanks to the application nearly 10 thousand students could participate in a three-day trip with their class.

Even though the summer camps in Fonyódliget and Zánka only ended a month ago, as soon as the autumn arrived they opened their gates again for those who started the school year with a study trip. Hundreds of children groups, mainly from Bács-Kiskun, Fejér, Pest and Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok counties, filled the camps with laughter and joy.

The cost of a trip was 1000 HUF (approx. 3 EUR) per children and for this price full board and lodging along with an evening programme were provided. With the support of the Erzsébet-program students whose parents are otherwise not able to afford such a trip at market price, could also enjoy a small excursion. Teachers could link school topics to the students’ experiences and school mates could get-to-know each other better through adventures and games. Furthermore, shared laughters, jokes and gossips made these days unforgettable for the children.
